Accommodation boost for Cootehill school
The four specialist rooms planned for at St Aidan’s are an Engineering Room, Engineering Prep Room, Construction Prep Room and Home Economics Room.
Funding has been granted by the Department of Education for four specialist classrooms at St Aidan's Comprehensive School in Cootehill.
The move was confirmed by Minister for Education Norma Foley to Cavan-Monaghan Fianna Fail TD Brendan Smith this afternoon.
The four specialist rooms planned for at St Aidan’s are an Engineering Room, Engineering Prep Room, Construction Prep Room and Home Economics Room.
“This is a welcome development and I am very glad to have supported the school’s application for additional permanent accommodation,” said Deputy Smith reacting to the announcement. “This upgrading of classroom accommodation will enhance considerably the school’s facilities. The 4 specialist rooms are Engineering Room, Engineering Prep Room, Construction Prep Room and Home Economics Room.”
He added: “I compliment the entire school community, namely the Principal Ms Marianne Smith and her staff colleagues, the Board of Management and the Parents’ Association on their efforts to have additional accommodation and upgraded facilities provided at St. Aidan’s.”
