Over €1M for schools in Cavan and Monaghan

More than a million euro has been allocated to 14 schools across counties Cavan and Monaghan under the 2021 Summer Works Scheme.

Fianna Fáil TD Brendan Smith confirmed the details this morning following approval by the Minister for Education Norma Foley.

Ten schools in Cavan have been allocated grant aid totalling €855,298; while four schools in Co Monaghan will benefit from funding of €221,662 under the scheme.

Deputy Smith explained: "The works approved are for roof repairs at primary level and toilet and other sanitary facilities at primary and post-primary levels.

"This early approval enables schools to make the necessary preparations in good time for such improvement works to be undertaken during the summer of 2021."
