'Do Not Use' water restriction notice lifted
The 'Do Not Use' water restriction notice issued for the Billis-Lavey Group Water Scheme has been lifted by Cavan County Council. Following consultation with the Health Services Executive the local authority announced the lifting of the warning notice issued to all water users served by Billis-Lavey Group Water Scheme earlier this year.
A statement from the council said: “The water is now safe for use and can be used for drinking and food preparation.”
They went on to say: “Please note that if your internal/domestic water system has been in general use throughout the period of the notice you may now use your water supply as normal. If water systems have not been in use for the duration of the notice, consumers should ensure that they flush out their systems by running their hot and cold taps for a period of at least thirty minutes before resuming normal use of the water supply.”
