Upgrade for Bellanaleck Quay
Waterways Ireland will commence an extensive work programme to improve Bellanaleck Quay in November 2020.
The works are being undertaken to improve access and increase year round mooring capacity near Bellanaleck village.
Waterways Ireland’s design team in conjunction with contractors plan to widen the existing slipway and construct a new quay wall which will incorporate a fixed mooring. In addition a new 16 berth floating mooring will be connected to the quay.
The works are planned to be completed in March 2021 in time for Easter and the beginning of the boating and tourism seasons.
Director of Technical Services, Joe McMahon said: “Waterways Ireland continues to invest in increasing access to Lough Erne for recreational and tourism activity. Bellanaleck is a key lakeside location with a range of services which visitors enjoy and improved access will increase the duration and spend of visitors in the local area.”
