'Do Not Consume' notice remains for Billis-Lavey Group Water Schemes
The latest update from Cavan County Council shows that the 'Do Not Consume' notice remains in place for the Billis-Lavey Group Water Schemes.
Consumers are strongly advised to follow the advice set out in the notice issued to customers of both schemes and to avail of the alternative water sources available at designated locations.
Cavan County Council say they are continuing to work closely with the Billis-Lavey Group Water Schemes and their key stakeholders to resolve the exceedance issue. Work is ongoing with a view to meeting the required criteria and having the ‘Do Not Consume’ notice lifted.
Cavan County Council first issued the 'Do Not Consume' notice to homes and businesses who subscribe to the Billis-Lavey Group Water Schemes in August.
Cavan County Council’s website and social media channels will continue to updated those affected and remind consumers that the notice remains in effect.
The water is affected by elevated levels of manganese and should not be used for drinking, brushing teeth, or for preparing food and boiling the water will not make it safe to consume.
Consumers are strongly advised to follow the advice set out in the notice issued to customers by the scheme and to avail of the alternative water sources available at designated locations.
