Appeal after assault in Kingscourt
Gardaí in east Cavan are appealing for witnesses after a man received significant injuries following an assault that occurred in the Kingscourt area at the weekend.
The attack occurred between 11.15pm and midnight on Saturday night last, September 26, between Kingscourt town and the Turner’s Hill area.Anyone with information is being asked to make contact with Bailieborough gardaí.
Theft of money from vehicle
Gardaí in Cavan are appealing for information in relation to the theft of money from a vehicle parked in Cootehill Town earlier this month.
The theft took place on Friday, September 11, on Market Street, at the junction of Bridge Street and Church Street, between around lunchtime.Money was taken from the front cab of a delivery truck and gardaí are asking motorists operating dash cams and passing through the area between 1:55pm and 2:30pm to come forward and assist.
Rise in reports of suspicious vehicle movements
There has been a rise in the number of reported incidents involving the movement of suspicious vehicles locally.
Gardaí have issued several alerts in the past week, particularly in Monaghan where residents have been asked to report sightings of certain cars.One alert concerned the movements of a red-coloured Toyota Yaris in the Scothouse area (September 26), while a black-coloured Honda, partial registration 05CN, was reported being driven in a suspicious manner at Fingerpost on the Ballybay to Carrickmacross Road. Another alert involved the movements of a blue-coloured Hyundai I40 with a northern reg. It was further reported on September 23 that the male driver was selling pots and pans around the Doohamlet and Castleblayney areas.
