WATCH: Specially commissioned #CavanDay programme

The celebrations include this specially commissioned magazine-style programme involving some of Cavan’s most notable figures in the world of food, sport, entertainment, and business.

Cavan people at home and abroad are creating a sea of blue and white on the world wide web for the first-ever Cavan Day, taking place online today, Saturday, September 26.

With large gatherings not currently permitted, Cavan Calling could not take place in 2020, but in true indomitable Cavan spirit has persevered in bringing Cavan people across the globe together to celebrate our mutual friendships, heritage, cultural and sporting connections.

The celebrations include this specially commissioned magazine-style programme involving some of Cavan’s most notable figures in the world of food, sport, entertainment, and business.

The show has been directed by gifted Virginia film-maker Alan Bradley (Director of RTÉ Seán Boylan and Virginia Show documentaries), presented by Louise O’Reilly, and involves contributions from well-known Cavan people such as Hollywood heartthrob Chris Noth (Mr Big, ‘Sex and the City’); celebrity chef Neven Maguire; Ireland and West Ham football star Leanne Kiernan.

Besides the aforementioned stars comedian and TV presenter Kevin McGahern, handball world champion Paul Brady, writer Michael Harding, and actor Derbhle Crotty will all feature also.
