Repair works commence at Annalee View Respite Centre

Repairs work at Annalee View Respite Centre will be concluded by Spring 2021. Services in the Cavan and Monaghan regions are to re-open and works on Annalee will be finalised in the coming months.

Steadfast House Carrickmacross, Monaghan has reopened, and the Killygowan Respite Centre, Cavan is planned to reopen by the end of September in line with public health guidelines.

The Respite Centre in Killygoan provides respite services for those who have been affected by the closure of Annalee House due to the remediation works.

The progress came to light when The Department of Health responded to a Parliamentary Question by Fianna Fáil TD Niamh Smyth.

Welcoming the development Deputy Smyth said: “I am pleased the planned reopening of the centres is progressing.

“These respite centres offer a lifeline to the service users and their families so it’s extremely important for these services to be able to continue. I can confirm that repair works have commenced at Annalee View Respite Centre and will be completed by the end of March 2021.

“There has been a lot of inconvenience to service users and their families in the interim period and I hope now that services are beginning to reopen, we might see an easing of the stress to families and patients,” concluded Deputy Smyth.
