Council propose Cootehill development

The Council has given notice that it intends to build 28 new homes in Cootehill.

The notices states the 28 house development will consist of six two-storey three-bed semi-detached, eight two-storey two-bed semi-detached, two single storey two-bed semi-detached, two single storey three-bed semi-detached, seven two-storey two-bed terrace, two two-storey four-bed semi-detached, and one single storey two-bed detached.

Retaining walls, car parking spaces, service roads, landscaping, connections to existing water and services and all associated site works are all part of the plans for the development at Magheranure, Tullygarvey, Cootehill, Co. Cavan.

The local authority has completed a screening report, an environmental impact assessment screening report, an invasive species report, ground investigation report, a bat assessment report and a design statement and proofing report of the proposed development. All are available for inspection.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection or purchase at the customer service desk, Johnston Library, Cavan, and Municipal District Office, Cootehill, during normal working hours up until September 18.

Submissions or observations on the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area, can be made in writing to the Planning Section, Farnham Centre, Farnham Street, Cavan, before 4:00pm. October 2.

The Planning Authority has concluded that the proposed development does not require an Environmental Impact Assessment and will not be likely to have a significant effect on the environment.

Any person can apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
