A man arrested in relation to the €110,000 worth of suspected cannabis plants following the discovery of a grow house in Bailieborough yesterday afternoon is due to appear before court later today.

Gardaí arrested the man, aged in his 40's, and seized €110,000 worth of suspected cannabis plants following the raid shortly after 12:15pm on Friday, August 14.

Gardaí from the Cavan/ Monaghan Divisional Drug Unit, assisted by the Armed Support Unit and local Gardaí executed a search warrant at the property in Bailieborough.

During the course of the search Gardaí discovered a grow house in a shed at the rear of the property where they found the growhouse containing 137 cannabis plants (pending analysis).

The male arrested at the scene was being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Bailieborogh Garda station.

He was charged late last night in relation to the seizure and is due to appear before a Special sitting of the District Court in Mullingar at 5pm today, Saturday, August 15.
