More thundery showers on the way!

Occasional heavy showers or thunderstorms today (Friday) with sunny spells.

Met Éireann says temperatures will remain quite warm and humid with highs of 20 to 23 degrees. Light variable or southerly winds.

Hay fever sufferers be warned, the pollen count today is very high and moderate tomorrow (Saturday). The solar UV index remains high in sunshine.

The national weather forecaster says tonight will be showery with outbreaks of rain with some heavy and possibly thundery bursts possible.

Lowest overnight temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees with light variable breezes. Some mist and fog is likely to form.

The outlook for tomorrow (Saturday) is frequent showers, merging into longer spells of rain at times, with some heavy bursts and limited bright spells. Winds mostly moderate and westerly in direction but increasing fresh to strong at times along coasts. Highest temperatures between 14 and 16 degrees.

Further showers are promised on Saturday night. They will be most frequent in the north and west of the country, where they will merge into longer spells of rain towards morning.

Lowest temperatures of 10 or 11 degrees with mostly moderate westerly breezes but winds strong and gusty along Atlantic coasts.

Looking ahead to Sunday and the weather is set to be wet and dull for much of Connacht and Ulster, elsewhere drier, brighter conditions with scattered showers.

Highest temperatures 14 to 18 degrees generally, a little cooler under cloud in the north. Moderate to fresh and gusty westerly winds, strong along west and northwest coasts.

Sunday night will see further outbreaks of rain continuing in the north and west overnight. Mostly dry elsewhere with a moderate to fresh southwest wind, but winds will continue strong and gusty along west and northwest coasts.

The outlook for Monday is a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, the showers most frequent in the north and west. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees with a moderate to fresh westerly breeze that will be strong at times along the western coast.

Monday should see showers largely dying out overnight with clear spells, lows of 9 to 11 degrees and mostly moderate westerly winds.

Current indications suggest weather will continue changeable with rain or showers at times, but dry interludes will occur too. Temperatures close to average for this time of year or slightly below.
