Cavan IFA Annual General Meeting

Cavan IFA will be highlighting their work in securing government commitment to the €100 million fund to be made available to beef farmers experiencing difficulties as a result of Brexit as they rally the troops next Monday.

Cavan IFA hold their Annual General Meeting on that day (Monday, March 9, 2020) in The Lavey Inn, Stradone. The guest speaker on the night will be the IFA Director of European Affairs Liam MacHale. County Chair, Elizabeth Ormiston, will be chairing the meeting and Ulster/North Leinster Regional Chairman Nigel Renaghan will also be present.

In a year that has seen continued pressure on the livestock sector in regard to poor prices IFA have worked hard to secure €100m for beef and suckler farmers who sustained losses over some of this time.

IFA sat they are at the forefront in Europe in regard to the ongoing CAP Reform discussions and making sure that there is no further cut in the budget. All these issues and more will be open for discussion by those attending on the night.

“All farmers are welcome and encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting next Monday (March 9, 2020) in The Lavey Inn, Stradone at 8.30PM,” an organisation spokesperson said.
