Road reopens after truck crash
The main Belturbet to Ballyconnell road has reopened to traffic after removable vehicles forced its closure for a period earlier afternoon to assist in removing a crashed articulated lorry.
The truck, which left the N87 road at Greaghrahan on Monday night last (February 10), ended up in an adjoining field.
It took until ended Wednesday afternoon until specialist vehicles, including a removal truck and a crane, were drafted into pull the vehicle out of the ditch.
The road was closed between 12.30-4.30pm today (Wednesday) to allow a crane and recovery vehicle lift the tractor/cab section first, followed by the elevating of the trailer.
Telecom wires also had to be removed to facilitate the recovery operation.
Its understood the diver of the crashed vehicle was not seriously injured following the accident.
