BREAKING: New chairman elected at county GAA convention

Kieran Callaghan is the new chairman of Cavan county GAA board following the election which was held in the last few minutes at the board’s annual convention in the Hotel Kilmore.
The Denn clubman defeated Killygarry’s Paddy Sheanon by 103 votes to 75 in a secret ballot. The total valid poll was 179 votes, with one spoiled vote.
Meanwhile, Susan Brady (Ballyhaise) is the new PRO, defeating Sean Smith (Denn) in an election by 124 votes to 55.
Cavan’s two Ulster Council delegates will be Gerry Brady (Gowna) and Kevin Reilly (Killygarry) following an election for that position also.
