Tánaiste in Cavan for Brexit public meeting
The Tanáiste Simon Coveney will be in Cavan tomorrow evening (Thursday) as the special guest at a Brexit public meeting.
The event is being hosted by Fine Gael General Election candidate for Cavan-Monaghan, Sandra McIntyre. It will take place in the Hotel Kilmore at 7pm.
Ms McIntyre said: “One of the major concerns I am hearing from the general public in Cavan/Monaghan, but especially for farmers, exporters and employers is Brexit, and the implications of a possible ‘No Deal’ Brexit.
“The preservation of our hard-won peace process is also of the utmost importance. With all this in mind, I am hosting a public meeting on these topics."
Speakers will include: An Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Coveney; Martin McVicar, the CEO of Combilift in Monaghan; Verona Murphy, president of the Irish Road Haulage Association and Eoin Doyle, acting chief executive, Cavan County Council.
“Finally, there will also be a range of local business people, employers and experts contributing from the floor, as well as an opportunity for you to have your say and ask questions,” Ms McIntyre said.
