Cavan may escape worst of Storm Hannah
As the forecasters warn of strong winds and stormy conditions it looks as if Cavan could escape the worst ravages of Storm Hannah.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange weather warning for four counties as Storm Hannah hits. The national weather forecaster urge people to prepare for disruptions and power outages.
The Status Orange wind warning comes into effect tomorrow afternoon for Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick as the Met office forecast strong winds and stormy conditions.
Met Éireann said southerly winds will reach gusts as high as 130km/h, and warned people to be ready for disruption. The warning will remain in place from 4pm tomorrow until 5am on Saturday.
A Status Yellow wind warning has also been issued for Connacht, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Donegal, Tipperary and Waterford.
That warning will come into effect from 11pm tomorrow night through to Saturday morning.
