Nominations sought for Cathaoirleach’s Awards

Cavan’s Annual Cathaoirleach’s Awards take place this year on Friday, April 26. The awards celebrate the work of volunteers who make a difference to their communities because of their exceptional achievement, effort or service in a voluntary or unpaid capacity in County Cavan.  
This year there are six categories under which nominations are being accepted groups or individuals can be nominated or can nominate:
- Youth 
- Social Inclusion 
- Arts/Culture/Heritage 
- Community 
- Sports 
- Active Age

Nominations for the awards scheme close on Friday, April 12, and Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Cllr Madeleine Argue, invites communities to acknowledge the efforts of exceptional volunteers in their midst by nominating them in one of the six categories.
“Volunteerism is the lifeblood of our communities, and this scheme is a wonderful way to remind people that we value and appreciate their vital contributions to the world around them. I hope the people of Cavan will get nominating, and I look forward to meeting all of our nominees on 26th April,” said Cllr Argue.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 4pm on Friday, April 12. Completed Applications to be returned to Cavan County Council, Community and Enterprise section, Johnston Central Library, Farnham Street, Cavan.
