Almost half a million in sports capital grants for Cavan and Monaghan

Sporting clubs in Cavan and Monaghan are to benefit from sports capital funding totalling almost half a million euro.

The allocations are detailed in the latest round of funding announced, with 170 sports capital projects to receive funds totalling almost €6.9M.

Four clubs across County Cavan are set to benefit (see details below) from a total of €63,100 in the current round; while a total of €406,700 has been allocated to five clubs in neighbouring County Monaghan - although a large chunk of that, €350,000, is earmarked as a special allocation to St Tiarnach's GAA Clones for the regional redevelopment of St Tiarnach’s Park.

Ministers Shane Ross and Brendan Griffin today (Thursday) announced the latest grants to Sports Capital Programme (SCP) projects.

In relation to the new applications submitted under the 2018 round, work will now be advanced on the assessment of these with allocations to be announced later in the year.
