Man dies following house party attack
A 41-year-old man who was attacked at a house party to watch the Conor McGregor fight has died.
The married father of four children sustained serious head injuries in the early hours of Sunday 7 October of in a house in the village of Oram just outside Castleblaney, Co Monaghan.
The injured party was subsequently taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for urgent medical treatment, but died earlier today.
The State pathologist is due to conduct a post-mortem examination of the man's body tomorrow.
A 27-year-old man arrested following the alleged incident, was charged in connection with the attack before a sitting of Cavan District Court.
Francis Hughes with an address at Sruith an Luir, Oram, appeared before Clover Hill District Court this morning, and was further remanded to appear again in court in four week's time.
