Gallagher hits presidential trail on home ground
The Presidential race is well and truly underway and Independent candidate Sean Gallagher and his wife Trish hit the ground running when they descended on home ground in Ballyhaise yesterday evening (Thursday).
There was a great welcome for them and the local people interacted in most friendly and cordial manner and all pledging their support for Gallagher, who they see as one of their own.
People of all ages crowded into the Ballyhaise Community Centre and were enthused to meet and greet the man who was described as the next President of Ireland, when introduced to address the crowd.
He is looking forward now to what he called “rolling out his vision for the next seven years”.
“I have always maintained the stance that debates should be equal and fair and having everybody included in the debates. It is important that everybody is included, that we have fair and inclusive debate”.
His wife Trish told the Celt: “It was quite emotional to come in here the evening and see the crowd. It is always great to come back to Cavan. We always get a great welcome.”
Trish Gallagher said that she is looking forward to the campaign and joining her husband on the road.
Sean added: “It is all about meeting the electorate and meeting people in their communities – not just speaking to them but also listening to them – finding out what they want the next Presidency to be about.”
