St Felim's to go on market after title documents regularised
The title of the old St Felims Hospital sited on 11.32 acres on the old Belturbet Road out of Cavan Town is in the process of being regularised with a view to selling it, the HSE has confirmed. The site includes an old graveyard.
The HSE is currently working with a solicitor and the Property Registration Authority with a view to regularising title for the St Felim’s property. It is expected that this process will take some time and it is unlikely to be achieved before 2019 at the earliest.
Replying to questions from The Anglo-Celt this week, the HSE explained that “following successful regularisation of the title, the property can then be marketed through normal channels".
The HSE confirmed that “there is an old graveyard at the site and, in the event of a sale, this will be carefully managed and handled”.
There are buildings on the site dating back to the 1840s. The HSE further confirmed the old St Felim’s Hospital building and gate lodge are currently listed on the Record of Protected Structures in the Cavan County Council Development Plan 2014-2020.
