Local schools and projects get over €725K in CLÁR funding
Some €725,000 in funding has been announced today for 18 schools and community projects in Cavan and Monaghan under the 2018 CLÁR Programme.
Announcing the funding this morning, the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation and local Fine Gael TD, Heather Humphreys, said that the funding under this second measure of the scheme is targeted at playgrounds and improving games and recreational areas at schools and community facilities.
The Cavan projects to benefit in the latest round of funding are:
Castlerahan NS - €44,946 – New Playground & Grass Area
St Brigid’s NS, Tunnyduff - €24,183 – Develop Football/Basketball Area
Killeshandra NS - €44,595 – Develop Play Area And Astro Turf
St Mary’s NS, Drung - €44,556 – Multi Use Games Area
Corlea NS, Kingscourt - €39,022 – Develop All Weather Pitch
Butlersbridge GAA Club - €50,000 – Build Community Playground
Knocktemple NS - €39,508 – Play Area for Children with Special Needs
St Clare’s NS, Ballyjamesduff - €42,836 – New Playground
St Killian’s NS, Mullagh - €50,000 – New Playground/Games Area
Aughnadreena NS, Stradone - €18,275 – Upgrade Playground
Drumkilly NS, Kilnaleck – €44,200 Running Track & Resurface Existing Courts
The successful Monaghan projects meanwhile are:
Knockconan NS - €45,000 – New Playground
St Marys NS, Threemilehouse - €44,873 – Playground / Sensory Garden
Gransha NS - €43,340 – Multi Use Games Area
Deravoy NS - €50,000 – New Playground
Ballybay Central School - €36,324 – Multi Use Games Area
St Daighs NS, Inniskeen - €50,000 – New Sports Area
Corracrin NS - €13,743 – Resurface Playground
Today’s announcement follows the announcement of over €235,000 in funding for nine local projects under Measure 1 of the CLÁR Programme last week. This brings the total allocation for Cavan and Monaghan to almost €1M.
“I was delighted to reintroduce the CLÁR Programme in 2016 during my tenure as Minister with responsibility for Rural Affairs. Over 1000 projects have been funded nationwide since then including a huge number here in Cavan and Monaghan," said Minister Humphreys.
