Cavan gets weather warning
Met Eireann have issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Cavan.
Storm Hector is set to sweep Ireland today and Thursday bringing heavy rain and powerful winds to parts.
The national meteorological service raised a weather warning level to Orange after declaring storm status for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo.
The forecaster says this evening and tonight south to southwest winds will veer westerly, associated with Storm Hector. They will reach average speeds of 65 to 80 km/hr with gusts of 110 to 125 km/hr. Winds will be strongest in coastal areas.
The Status Yellow wind warning covers Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon, Clare and Kerry with south to southwest winds veering westerly, associated with storm.
