€3,000 cannabis seized in raid

 

Gardai in Cavan have seized cannabis with an estimated street value of €3,000 following a raid at a house last week.

Members of the force attached to Cavan Garda Station made the discovered following a planned search of a property in the Cavan Town area, where quantities of the drug was packed and bagged for distribution.

As a result, one person was arrested but later released with a file now sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions on the matter.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, gardai attached to the regional Drug Divisional Unit seized cannabis and cocaine with an estimated street value of €350.

It was one of four other raids to have occurred in the locality over the past week into the June Bank Holiday weekend, and the seizures are part of An Garda Siochana’s ongoing crackdown on the drug trade operating in the local region.
