National roads funding for Cavan almost doubles
Some €12.3M has been allocated towards national roads projects in County Cavan for 2018 - almost double that allocated in 2017 (€6.8M).
Fine Gael Senator Joe O'Reilly has welcomed the allocation, confirmed today by the Minister for Transport.
Priority projects identified as part of the allocation include the N55 from Corduff to the south of Killydoon, which has been allocated over €5.7 million; the N3 from Cornaslieve to the north of Virginia, which will receive €960,000, and the N87 from Snugborough to Ballyconnell, which has been granted €840,000.
“The provision of funding for our national roads is of the utmost importance in ensuring everyone in our local communities can travel to work, and to visit friends and relatives throughout our county," said Senator O'Reilly.
