Cootehill footpaths under spotlight
The condition of footpaths in Cootehill was one of the issues raised by the town’s Chamber of Commerce in a meeting with local elected representatives. The business forum met with Cllrs Sarah O’Reilly (FF), Paddy McDonald (SF), Clifford Kelly (FF) and Carmel Brady (FG) to discuss concerns of the commercial community.
Cllr O’Reilly brought the issues to the attention of the executive at a meeting of the Bailieborough-Cootehill Municipal District. “Chamber members noted that the glass cellar lights on footpaths in Cootehill are a hazard. I highlighted these as an eyesore and an obstacle for wheelchair users, the elderly and especially children in The Holy Family School.”
Director of Service Joe McLoughlin said that the council would look into it.
