RTÉ film scary house in Blacklion

Not only is Blacklion known for fine cuisine but now a creative family in the village have entered the best Halloween House in Ireland competition on the 'Today Show' with Maura and Daithi to see who has the scariest Halloween experience.

An RTÉ film crew with presenter Brenda Donohoe descended on the house in Blacklion on Monday evening to film the house and what the family and friends had created.
Sarah McCann Hunt and her husband Peter Hunt have created a wonderful Halloween experience both inside and outside their home at Ash Lawn Estate and there was a wonderful atmosphere with happy children really enjoying the home-grown fun.

Hundreds of entries flooded in for the competition and the Blacklion House was chosen together with two others in Kildare and Dublin to go head to head and let judge, James Patrice, decide the winner.
The winning family will be revealed on Halloween day and rewarded with a family trip to Florida.
Brenda Donohoe told The Anglo-Celt: “We asked people to send in their pictures and this house just jumped out at us. Then we spoke to Sarah and I loved the idea that she wanted to create memories with a sense of fun and including the community.”
Sarah McCann Hunt told the Celt that she created a graveyard scene out in the lawn in front of their home and also transformed the inside of the house to delivery a real scary experience to create memories for all the children in Blacklion.
Sarah is a nurse in Sligo General Hospital and Peter is a sales representative for Anachem Hygiene Solutions. They have three children Peter, Megan and Dylan.
