Charity dance in the Lavey Inn this Friday night
Those of you looking for a fun time this Friday night, look no further than the Lavey Inn, which will play host to a charity dance in aid of St John's Ambulance, Cavan Division, writes Thomas Lynch.
The event is being organised by the The Rainbow Tractor Club, which is based in Virginia. The chairman of the club, Alan Clarke, said that popular band 'Rhythm & Sticks' will provide the entertainment,
“We're very grateful to have them,” he said of the lively, four-piece band. 'They're very popular with young people at the minute and have very big followers.”
Mr Clarke is delighted to support the St John's Ambulance Cavan Division as their chosen charity. “We like to help Virginia-based charities,” he said, who added that St John's have helped them out before in tractor runs.
Mr Clarke added that it's so important to help organisations like St John's because they rely solely on charitable donations. “We plan to get around 500 people into the Lavey Inn and we plan to raise around €4000,” he expressed of the club's main objectives for the night.
Future tractor runs
This Friday's dance is the club's main priority at the moment but the Rainbow Tractor Club has numerous events planned for the upcoming year. “We plan to have over three tractor runs over the next 12 months,” announced Mr Clarke - the first one taking place on April 3 in aid of Alzheimer's Cavan.
Doors open in the Lavey Inn at 9pm this Friday and the band starts playing around 10. Tickets are available in the Lavey Inn or by ringing 086-8759606 or just pay on the door on the night. Admission is €10.
The night promises to be a fun event for music lovers and dancers alike.
Clarke would also like to thank the members of staff at the Lavey Inn , who he says played a big part in helping organising the event.
