New trial parking arrangement along centre island in Kingscourt
A new two-hour parking regime will come into effect in Kingscourt after Christmas, according to local county councillor, Clifford Kelly.
The Fianna Fáil representative also revealed that a proposal to provide a cycle lane along the main street has been disregarded.
Additional parking parallel to the centre meridian in the town at Church Street is also to be put into effect on a trial basis said Cllr Kelly.
All the streets have been fully lined and the layout for this new parking trial “is a good job and I hope it works out” he said.
“Some people feel it is not a great idea, while others think it is a wonderful idea,” added Cllr Kelly.
He added that a Traffic Warden will be tasked with sharing duties between Kinigscourt and another town.
“We have to provide off-street car parking facilities for all the people who travel to Dublin by bus. The council have visited a number of sites and there will definitely be off-street car parking provided next year,” assured Cllr Kelly.
