Swanlinbar man and former Central Bank governor passes
The death has sadly occurred of Swanlinar man Tomás F Ó Cofaigh who was a former Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland.
Mr Ó Cofaigh, Uragh, Swanlinbar, and late of Churchtown, Dublin, died this morning, December 4. Former Secretary of the Department of Finance, Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland and President of the Economic and Social Research Institute, and a key founder of the International Financial Services Centre, Dublin, he is deeply regretted by his loving wife Joan, sons Eoin, Niall and Colm, daughter Cliona, daughters-in-law Katarina and Emma, son-in-law Declan Drumm, by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sisters, brothers and their families, and by his many friends in Ireland and abroad.
His remains are reposing at his home in Swanlinbar from 6-10pm today, Friday, December 4 and from 11am until 5pm on Saturday. House private at all other times.
Removal to Saint Mary’s Church, Swanlinbar, arriving 7pm this Saturday. Mass of the Resurrection on Sunday at 12 noon, with burial at Killaduff Cemetery immediately thereafter.
