Pedestrian male (24) killed by lorry in Castleblayney

Gardai in Castleblaney are investigating a fatal road traffic collision between a pedestrian anda  lorry, which occurred in Castleblaney in the early hours of this morning (November 20).

The collision between a lorry and a pedestrian occurred at approximately 2am at Drumquill, on the Castleblaney to Annyalla Rd (the Old N2). The male (24) was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene, his body remains at the scene, the lorry driver was uninjured in the collision.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
