Investigation into fatal fall in Virginia
The Health and Safety Authority and gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Virginia over the weekend.
On Saturday (October 31) at around 1.15pm a Letrim man in his late 50s fell through the roof of a premises at the back of a petrol station while maintenance work on the roof was being carried out.
A HSA spokesperson said that inspectors were today at the scene and that a full investigation will be carried out.
It is thought the man suffered fatal head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai in Bailieborough and Virginia are also investigating.
