335k for land in lisduff old rectory sold after auction

There were two notable results for Cavan properties the at the Allsop auction yesterday (Wednesday).
Among the varied lots the county offered to the RDS auction on July 8 was a rectory, 49-acres near Virginia, a detached four-bed and a lakeside holding in Cavan Town, among others.
Of those, the biggest listed sale was for the 49-acre site, an irregularly shaped holding along with a derelict house, at Lisduff in the townland of Carricksimon, close to the Meath border and south of Lough Ramor.
The lower end of the €175-200K reserve was nearly doubled by the sale, which eventually came in at €335K.
The striking 'Old Rectory’ in Kildallon, Belturbet, had been given a reserve not to exceed €290K and sold after auction for an undisclosed fee. The detached seven-bedroom Georgian residence dates back to 1813 and came 'with a range of stone outbuildings and with total lands extending to approximately 42 acres approximately 20 acres of which are woodlands’.
The rectory itself, said Allsop is on two acres and is arranged over lower ground, ground and one upper floor and is described was being 'in need of refurbishment’.
