Investigation after woman falls from window at hospital
An investigation is underway after a female patient sustained multiple fractures after falling from a window at Cavan General Hospital earlier today, Thursday, June 18.
It's understood the woman fell out of the window of a day room in the hospital early on Thursday morning.
A spokeswoman for Cavan & Monaghan Hospital confirmed the incident.
The woman, who suffered a subdural haemorrhage as well as fractures, has since been transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for urgent medical care.
The woman is said to be in a stable condition, and an investigation is now underway into how the incident occurred.
