The Ag Seinm Traditional Arts Camp 2015 will take place in Breifne College, Cavan from July 13th-July 17th inclusive. Participants of all ages are invited to come and experience all the difference aspects involved in Traditional Irish Music, Song & Dance within a context of fun.
One of the main features of the Ag Seinm Traditional Arts Camps is the “Come & Try Section” where each day students get to try an instrument of their choice which ultimately helps them make a choice before making huge investments in instruments.
The Ag Seinm Summer Traditional Arts Camp is open for students aged 5 and over including adults and it caters for all levels of experience from beginner to advanced. Master classes will also take place on a daily basis to help more advanced students to further develop their skills. Many activities will take place on a daily basis e.g. Bodhran Tipper Making, Theory Classes, Puzzles, Trivias and “Come Dressed as the name of a tune.”
Running concurrently with the Ag Seinm Traditional Summer Arts Camp is a summer course for teachers. This is entitled Structured Approach Teaching Tin-whistle In The National School” and is recognised by the Drumcondra Education Centre. This course is open to all National School Teachers and will follow many aspects of the National Curriculum Guidelines for teaching music in the National School. Participating Teachers will be entitled to E.P.V. days.
