Man arrested after serious crash on cavan bypass

Gardaí at Cavan are investigating a serious road traffic collision which occurred on the Cavan by-pass at approximately 5pm this afternoon (Monday, April 6).
A motor cycle and a car were in collision at the above location.

The 44-year-old male motorcyclist was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital in a serious condition. The 24-year-old male driver of the car was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and is currently detained at Cavan Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 - Criminal Justice Act 1984.
No other persons were injured.
