Garda investigate manorhamilton fatal road crash

Gardaí at Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim are investigating a fatal road traffic collision near Manorhamilton at approximately 10am this morning Thursday (October 30).

Three cars and one rigid bodied lorry were in collision on the N16 at Diffreen. A male driver in his 40’s of one of the cars was seriously injured and taken to Sligo Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. A total of seven people including the deceased were taken to Sligo Regional Hospital.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda forensic examination, local diversions are in place.
