Cavan nannys case put back for second time
The trial of Cavan nanny Aisling McCarthy Brady, accused of murdering a one-year-old baby girl in Boston last year has been delayed for a second time.
Mrs Brady McCarthy (35), originally from Lavey was employed as a nanny for the baby - Rehma Sabir from Cambridge, Massachusetts. The infant was hospitalised in January 2013 with severe head injuries in January 2013. She died two days later, after which the local woman was remanded in custody.
The murder trial was due to begin in Woburn, Massachusetts next week but has now been put back until January 20, 2015 to allow more time for further assessment of medical evidence.
Her defense team said they have not yet received crucial medical evidence that they claim could prove their client’s innocence.
The trial was originally set to take place in April earlier this year.
