Sale agreed on Emerald Star site
A sale has been agreed for the former Emerald Star marina site in Belturbet.
It is understood and agreement has been reached in regards the purpose built cruiser hire facility, which was first put up for sale in October last year for €390,000 by its former owner's Crown Travel, Europe’s largest boat rental company, who operate as Le Boat in the UK and Europe.
Emerald Start first established a base of operations at Naughan, Belturbet back in April 1994. At the height of its popularity and use the moorings there had up to 30 cruisers regularly docked there, however by the end of 2009 falling sales and the adverse economic climate forced the company to restructure and reduce their capacity both in its operations on the River Erne and River Shannon.
Listed on 'MyHome.ie' website, the sale of the former Emerald Star site was said to represent an “excellent investment opportunity” for anyone looking to develop the existing resources and capitalise on the strategic location of the property.
Facilities on-site include a purpose-built reception, administration block, laundry storage and floating pontoons, capable of accommodating 40 boats.
