Former Celt sports editor Eamonn Gaffney to launch book

A NEW and welcome innovation to the plethora of GAA publications is the latest to come on the market from former Sports Editor of the Anglo-Celt Eamonn Gaffney.
It concerns 'Cavan’s 80 years of team management. The psychology of achieving success’ and concentrates on the halcyon days of Cavan’s football successes in junior in 1927, followed by minor titles in 1937 and ’38 and five All-Ireland senior titles in 1933, ’35, 1947,’48 and 1952. It deals with the stars who became household names over the last eight decades but also concentrates on the coaching and training methods which went in to producing quality players and teams by the managers and trainers, and which eventually brought success.
The book will be launched in Cavan County Library on Thursday night at 7pm by former Ulster Council GAA President Aogan O’Fearbhaill and who is a candidate for the GAA Presidency in 2014. Other special guests will include former GAA President Peter Quinn and Brian McEniff who has achieved All-Ireland success with Donegal as manager and has also been a successful coach to the Ulster Railway Cup team.
