Live webcam streaming from Cavan Town

Shopping local in Cavan Town is important this Christmas as the freeze continues, and your trip can now be viewed around the world courtesy of a webcam on Main Street. Cavan Chamber president Pacelli Lynch says the camera is outside Eason and has a full view of the street. It's similar to the live stream during the All-Ireland Fleadh and has been put in place courtesy of Drumlin Media; you could text relations in New York or Melbourne and give them a wave as you walk down the street! See for yourself at drumlinmedia.com (click on live stream). Mr. Lynch confirmed that the town was busy despite the cold but it is not a comfortable shopping experience. People are rushing around to do their essential shopping but “the feelgood factor is not thereâ€. He pointed out that books are selling well at Eason and figures in the store have held up well over the full year. The three for two promotion on books is going well. The bad spell at the end of November and the beginning of December cut trade in the town generally by 20% compared to the same time last year. Then the period immediately after that was on a par with last year. Some businesses can be affected by as much as 30-50% during bad weather. Drumlin Media uses technology to provide a range of services including live streaming, audio video production and media training to the business and community sectors in the north east. It is working with Cavan Chamber to help promote the shop local campaign and the voluntary community to show the value for money services it provides.
